The UD Faculty Commons Book Club will meet Wednesday, June 22 to discuss Scholarship Reconsidered: Priorities of the Professoriate by Ernest L. Boyer. This seminal book has been influential in shaping how colleges and universities understand, evaluate, and prioritize faculty work. The discussion will be facilitated by Dr. Kevin Guidry, Senior Research Analyst, Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning.
Limited free copies of the books are available based upon registration. Participants will be contacted via email if they are eligible. A few printed copies may be available for loan at the UD Library. Although the original 1990 edition is perfectly suitable for this discussion, some readers may prefer the 25th anniversary edition published in 2015 with additional commentary.
The meeting for this book will be Wednesday, June 22 at 12:30 p.m. in Faculty Commons (116 Pearson Hall) with drinks and dessert provided. RSVP requested.
