Jessica Edwards

Assistant Professor of English

The Center for Teaching and Assessment of Learning (CTAL) awarded Dr. Edwards a Scholar grant in 2015. Through this grant she explored inclusive teaching practices and approaches to teaching about diversity among UD faculty and then used this research to create a repository of resources at CTAL.

Upon reflecting on her award, Dr. Edwards now reports that, “the resources I compiled for the English department were an extension of the work I did as a CTAL scholar. In addition, my research from the CTAL project will be apart of an edited collection called “Citizenship and Advocacy in Technical Communication. The collection is under contract via Routledge right now, so I’m waiting to learn more.”

Dr. Edwards created the site, “Teaching Race: Resources, References, and Discussions,” to help instructors in her department continue important conversations about teaching race and to provide an accessible space for materials. The resources, which consist of videos, articles, lesson plans, and webinars, are available for instructors to use, adapt, and discuss.”
