Returning Books: Keep it unless you’re leaving!
We know you are anxious about what to do with your library books, and so are your students! If you live locally, the Library asks you to retain your items until physical operations resume. Due to dates for Interlibrary Loan items are being automatically extended. Check your ILL account for up-to-date information about when an item will be due. Dates may change based on lending partners’ reopening schedules. If you are leaving campus and need to return ILL items, please use the book return outside of Morris Library to do so.
If your students are graduating and asking questions about how to return items, here’s how to help: Let them know that books and DVDs can be returned to the book return outside of the front entrance of Morris Library. If students need to return equipment, there is a return bin in the waiting area at the UD Police Department at 413 Academy Street. Students can lay the equipment in the bin, which is being monitored with security cameras.
Course Reserves: Plan ahead and leverage your librarian!
The Library, Museums, and Press is encouraging faculty to replace on-site course reserves print materials for the summer and for fall with electronic resources.
Expert librarians are ready to assist you in this process! If you were planning to place print materials on On-Site Course Reserves for the fall semester, please contact your subject librarian as soon as possible to determine if exact versions of print materials are available in electronic format or if a satisfactory substitute can be found. It is also possible that relevant Open Education Resources (OER) may be available or that the Library may be able to purchase e-books to support you! Schedule a course materials consultation with your subject librarian today!
